Friday Afternoon Guest Masterclass

Every Friday during lockdown we have been inviting professional dance artists and teachers to hold guest workshops for our online dance school.

Our first guest artist was Mark Samaras, who has recently been on tour with Matthew Bourne for his all-male production of Swan Lake, touring Sadler's Wells in London, and Broadway in New York. Mark taught a wonderful jazz workshop, which we all enjoyed thoroughly.

Our second guest artist was Amy McEntee, who is currently an artist with Scottish Ballet. Amy taught the students both a ballet barre and choreographed a lovely dance. This was an excellent workshop, and our students loved hearing about life as a professional dancer.

Our final guest artist was Cameron Flynn, who has also been on tour with Matthew Bourne, performing in 3 of his productions, including Romeo and Juliet. Cameron has also danced at the first Night of the Proms, and 100 years of the RAD at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. Cameron will be teaching a contemporary/jazz workshop to the song "Waving Through a Window" from the acclaimed musical: Dear Even Hansen, on Friday 1st May.
